The cove base that goes in with the panels. The CoR 4 Joint is the cove base joint connector of the CoR 4. Both lines, CoRound Seal and CoRound Basic, use it. It is a joint piece that connects two CoR 4 lengths in a straight run. Installers press or snap it into place, so the meeting point needs no miter cut.
What Is the CoR 4 Joint?
It is a joint piece that connects two CoR 4 lengths in a straight run. The CoR 4 Joint is rigid PVC, in both lines. CoR 4, CoR 4 Base, CoR 4 2-Way External Corner, CoR 4 End and CoR 4 Joint are used in both lines, CoRound Seal and CoRound Basic.
In other words, it is a PVC cove base joint for the CoR 4 profile. At the floor, similarly, the CoR Skirt S Joint does the same job for the CoR Skirt S, and for the CoR Skirt B in Pure White 9010 or Sand White 9002.
Why Use a Pre-formed Cove Base Joint Connector?
Where two lengths meet, a joint made by hand can otherwise end up filled with silicone. Instead, the joint piece covers the meeting point. Straight lengths meet at a joint piece, columns take pre-formed outside corners, and each run stops at an end cap at the door: no miter cuts to fill with silicone. The curve comes from the factory, not from the installer’s hand: it is the same all the way around the room.
Where Does the Cove Base Joint Connector Install?
It goes wherever two CoR 4 lengths meet in a straight run. The run can be at the wall-to-ceiling junction or in a wall-to-wall junction. Typical rooms include:

The CoRound Basic line also comes in Stainless Steel Gray 9023, for rooms with stainless steel or Galvalume® walls and equipment. The gray is similar to stainless steel and Galvalume®, not an exact match: ask for a free sample to check it against your walls. The CoR 4 Joint comes in that gray too. It is one of the sanitary cove base accessories of the CoR 4 that serve both lines.
How Do You Install the CoR 4 Joint?
First, installers fasten the CoR 4 Base along the run. Then they snap the two CoR 4 lengths onto it, end to end. Finally, they press or snap the CoR 4 Joint into place over the meeting point. Silicone is optional: not required for installation.
Store the profiles out of direct sunlight and heat before installation. PVC left in the sun can soften and lose its shape. These instructions are general installation advice: the installer chooses the method that suits the job.

What exactly are sanitary PVC profiles?
Sanitary PVC profiles, also called sanitary cove base, round off the corner where two surfaces meet: floor and wall, wall and wall, or wall and ceiling. The rounded profile removes the square corner where dirt builds up, and the smooth, non-porous surface is easy to clean. CoRound profiles are precision-extruded from rigid PVC, with flexible co-extruded lips on the cove base and the sanitary base.
Why not just use traditional silicone sealant for corner junctions?

How do sanitary PVC profiles compare with tile or metal bases?
A tile cove base has grout lines, and grout can hold dirt and moisture. CoRound profiles have a smooth PVC surface with no grout lines. Metal bases and channels can rust where water sits. PVC does not rust. CoRound costs less than stainless steel.
What’s the difference between a standard baseboard and a sanitary profile like CoR Skirt?
The CoR Skirt is a rigid PVC sanitary base with a rounded profile and flexible co-extruded lips. Unlike a rubber base, it can be screwed or riveted to the wall, so it doesn’t have to depend on adhesive. When the CoR Skirt is screwed or riveted, the fasteners sit behind a snap-on cover strip: no exposed screw heads to collect dirt.
How do the flexible lips work?
- CoR Skirt sanitary base: Flexible co-extruded lips press against the wall and the floor and follow small surface irregularities, closing the juncture. In wet areas, installers can add a thin bead of neutral silicone to help keep water from getting behind the profile.
- CoR 4 cove base: Flexible co-extruded lips press against both walls, or the wall and the ceiling, and follow small surface irregularities, closing the junction.

Is installation complicated? Do I need a specialized technician?
The panel crew can install the profiles: no separate flooring or welding crew to schedule.
The CoR Skirt is screwed or riveted to the wall, or bonded with adhesive: installer’s choice. The CoR 4 snaps onto the CoR 4 Base, which is pre-drilled and fastened with screws or rivets. Corners, joints and end caps press or snap into place.
Do I need to purchase special accessory pieces for corners and junctions?
Yes, and that’s one of the strengths of a complete system like CoRound.
