The rounded profile removes the square corner where dirt builds up, and the smooth, non-porous surface is easy to clean. That is the job of a sanitary cove base. With the CoRound™ system, three things change on the job site. No sealant line required along the wall. Pre-formed corners, no silicone-filled field cuts. No resin or cement to cure. As a sanitary cove base supplier, Panelmart stocks the system in the US and delivers nationwide.

What Does a Sanitary Cove Base Do?
Square corners can trap dirt and water, and that is where bacteria can grow. A rounded profile leaves fewer of those spots and makes them easier to wash out.
At the floor, the CoR Skirt sanitary base covers the wall-floor juncture. Flexible co-extruded lips press against the wall and the floor and follow small surface irregularities, closing the juncture.
Similarly, between walls and at the ceiling, the CoR 4 cove base covers the junctions. Flexible co-extruded lips press against both walls, or the wall and the ceiling, and follow small surface irregularities, closing the junction.
The CoR Skirt and the CoR 4 have a radius that exceeds 3/8 inch. Together with corner pieces and end caps, they form a sanitary cove base system for the whole room. For an overview, first see our guide to the PVC sanitary cove base.
What Does “No Sealant Line Required Along the Wall” Mean?
Exposed sealant can need cleaning and, over time, redoing: each time that means a service call, material and labor. With CoRound, no sealant line is required along the wall.
On standard cold storage panels with mesa or wide-rib profiles, the flexible lip follows the ribs. As a result, the flexible lip minimizes gaps along the wall, with no sealant line required.
For the owner, that is one less cost that can recur, while the installer has one less step on site. See how stainless steel trim compares in our PVC vs. stainless steel guide.
How Does a Rigid PVC Cove Base Install?
For a rigid PVC cove base, the tools are a tape measure, a level, a drill and a cutting tool. Installing CoRound is one pass along the wall: fasten the profile and snap in the corners. There is nothing to mix, trowel, weld or cure, and no sealant line is required along the wall.
The panel crew can install the profiles: no separate flooring or welding crew to schedule. Also, the curve comes from the factory, not from the installer’s hand: it is the same all the way around the room.
For example, straight lengths meet at a joint piece, columns take pre-formed outside corners, and each run stops at an end cap at the door: no miter cuts to fill with silicone.

Which Rooms Use a Sanitary Cove Base?
Designed for walk-in coolers, food plants and commercial kitchens. Installs on insulated panels, FRP-covered walls, tile, masonry and drywall. Applications also include cleanrooms and pharmaceutical facilities.
Since each room has its own details, we cover them in separate guides. Read about the cove base for walk-in coolers, the commercial kitchen cove base and the food processing cove base.
Why Choose Rigid PVC Instead of Rubber or Stainless Steel?
The CoR Skirt is a rigid PVC sanitary base. Unlike a rubber base, it can be screwed or riveted to the wall, so it doesn’t have to depend on adhesive. See our rubber cove base comparison for details.
A stainless steel base can dent and rust, and the exposed silicone along it can blacken and come loose. CoRound replaces it with no welding on site, and it costs less than stainless steel.
Also, metal bases and channels can rust where water sits. PVC does not rust. In addition, the color runs through the PVC: a hit or a scratch shows the same color, and there is no paint or coating to chip.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you need silicone when you install CoRound?
No. Silicone is optional: not required for installation. For the CoR Skirt, in wet areas, installers can add a thin bead of neutral silicone to help keep water from getting behind the profile.
Can I buy a single piece?
You can, for example, order one end cap for a repair, or the profiles for a full room.
